I’m a New Believer What’s Next?
We celebrate your decision to follow Jesus! This is the most important choice you will ever make. This page is designed to walk you through your first steps as you learn to belong to God’s family, believe in His promises, and become more like Him every day. Here are 5 Next Steps you can take right now to further your journey in Jesus.
Step 1 – Let Us Know You Decided to Follow Christ
We want to celebrate with you! Please let us know about your decision by filling out a Connect Card. This allows our church family to pray for you and provide you with resources to help you on your new journey.
Step 2 – Get Your New Believer Bag
We have a special gift for you! Pick up a New Believer Bag at the Welcome Center after any service. It includes a Bible, a foundational resource booklet to help you grow, and information about groups and discipleship opportunities. You can also ask any pastor or host team member to assist you.
Step 3 – Sign Up for Water Baptism
Water baptism is an outward expression of an inward change. It’s a public declaration of your faith in Jesus and a beautiful milestone in your walk with Christ. We encourage every new believer to take this important step of obedience.
Once you fill out this form a member of our team will reach out to you with instructions for the big day to let your light shine through water baptism.
On the day of water baptism a special class will be held with the Senior Pastor to provide instructions for water baptism, prayer and encouragement. When you are water baptism there are usally others who with you who have also made the same decision and are ready to be baptized as well.
Step 4 – Discover, Develop & Deploy Your Gifts
Growth happens best in community. We encourage you to grow in your faith by connecting with a Small Group, joining a LifeHour study on Sunday mornings at 9:00 AM, and consistently attending services on Wednesday nights and Sunday mornings.
A great way to discover your spiritual gifts is to complete a spiritual gifts test and meet with Pastor Joshua Brunette to talk about how you can use those gifts in service to Jesus.
Step 5 – “Consider Becoming a Member”
When you feel ready, we invite you to consider joining Ponca City Assembly as a member. Our Membership Classes happen quarterly and are a perfect time to learn more about our church’s leadership, vision, and heart for our city.
Being a member allows you to help in different ways within the Church. You are already a part of the family but being in membership helps us to count on your support and consider you for greater responsibilities within the Church orginization.
